Kellie’s search for hope.

by Kylie, in category Uncategorized

I had a bright and bubbly post ready for you today, but I got some news that knocked me sideways.  Kellie from To Russia with Hope has lost her battle with Stiff Person Syndrome and passed away. She wrote beautifully, with humour and in our little Blog with Pip Facebook group was an absolute sweetheart.  You… Read More

A different sort of Whole Orange Cake

by Kylie, in category cooking

The other day Katie180 put out a call on Facebook. Tell her two ingredients and she would suggest a recipe. I looked around my kitchen for two things that needed using. I’ve just come back from a visit from my Mum’s, who loaded me up with oranges from her garden. That was one thing. The other… Read More

Care for another cup of tea with me?

by Kylie, in category Uncategorized

Well, I’m a little late linking in with the other lovely Blog with Pip students. But I promise that I’ve been really busy and creative and super inspired.

So, five things I’m loving right now?

1. Building my blog page

I’ve moved to Wordpress, become a .com and now I’m making it all look nice. Seriously, a year ago, I wouldn’t have thought about doing all this by myself. But there is so much knowledge and helpfulness out there.

2. Origrami

I’m a shocker for taking pictures and then just leaving them on the computer for no one to ever see. Origrami links in with my Instagram account and its so easy to get some cute, tactile memories in the post.

3. Kids playing music

4. Photo challenges

5. Cooking on my good old Metters oven.

Top 5 ways to be find Inspiration

by Kylie, in category inspiration

The other week I was catching up with my bestie. She had just come back from a whirlwind trip to Europe and the States for her creative business.  She had a blast, but as a well known quilt and fabric designer she was tired. I said that she needed to get ‘reinspirated’ and we had… Read More

Slim Dusty Day

by Kylie, in category Uncategorized

Today is would have been Slim Dusty’s 87th birthday. I grew up listening to his music. I think he was a legend, and now our local Federal Member is pushing to create June 13th as Slim Dusty Day. I think YES! He and his wife, Joy McKean, travelled millions of miles all over Australia bring… Read More

Monster time!

by Kylie, in category Uncategorized

We got a little card in the letterbox the other day letting us know they were cutting the power to replace some power poles in our street. On a Sunday! For 10 Hours!! Well, there go my plans of sewing a new top. And I guess I won’t be able vacuum or iron. Oh dear! I’m planning… Read More

You Found Me!

by Kylie, in category Uncategorized

I’m feeling all ‘leapy’ at the moment. Not the scaredy cat, jump at my own shadow kind of ‘leapy’, more the jump in with both feet kind. The GOOD kind of ‘leapy’. So that’s why you’ll now find me here on MY OWN .COM!!! How awesome is that? It took some late night reading and… Read More

5 Great Things for Mother’s Day 2014

by Kylie, in category Uncategorized

Mother’s Day is coming up here in Australia. I kind of dread what that entails. Sweet things I don’t want to eat, stinky things from the school Mother’s Day stall. All those things given with great love, that you can’t hide. The Great White Hunter prefaced the conversation about it with his usual ‘Now I… Read More

A treat for a friend

by Kylie, in category Recipe cooking

Yesterday I packed up the kids and went off to visit Jellywares for the day. The weather was glorious and I was super keen to have a natter with the lady who first got me blogging.  The kids played in the Girl’s school room. Being so far out of town, Jodie’s girls do their schooling… Read More
