Top 5 ways to be find Inspiration

by Kylie, in category inspiration

The other week I was catching up with my bestie. She had just come back from a whirlwind trip to Europe and the States for her creative business.  She had a blast, but as a well known quilt and fabric designer she was tired. I said that she needed to get ‘reinspirated’ and we had… Read More

Things to notice

by Kylie, in category inspiration

As I was sitting in the kitchen this morning, ignoring the washing up, I saw this outside my window.  Two crows were sitting blissfully together, hopping to and fro, preening each other in the morning sun. Signs of Spring.

by Kylie, in category garden, inspiration

I rushed into marriage. If we had lived together beforehand it would never have lasted. Before we met he had never put a seed into the ground, or felt the earth on his hands. On inspiration…

by Kylie, in category inspiration, knitting

How do artists get their ideas? How do musicians put down the beginnings of their next song? When a sculptor puts their hands on a block of marble, how do they know what to create?Over the years of talking to artists and craft people of all sorts, it seems that the way inspiration strikes is… Read More

Roll on 2012

by Kylie, in category craft, inspiration, knitting, patchwork

I’ve got some plans for 2012. But, first I need to make a space for myself. A studio. An area to create and inspire. The TGWH rearranged the spare room back in July…without me… It was traumatic to come home and find everything dumped on the bed, but it needed to be done. All this rearranging… Read More

KAL

by Kylie, in category inspiration, knitting, obsession

Life is full of acronyms. The one that I have been wrapped up in for the last few months is KAL or Knit Along. A group agree to knit an item or a specific pattern, or anything really! Sometimes there is a deadline, sometimes not. I really enjoy the encouragement and fun that ensues when… Read More

Take me back

by Kylie, in category inspiration

Last post I let you know about an online magazine I think is a treat. As I was looking through its pages doing a little window shopping I came across something that in an instant took me back to a specific moment in my childhood. I was four. It was a day at preschool and I was… Read More

by Kylie, in category inspiration, magazines

…online magazines. Especially the free ones, but I also buy a few when the mood strikes. LMNOP used to be free, but now you pay and its well worth it! Especially when its so full of colour and inspiration. As my three lovlies grow older I still like to look at all the beautiful things… Read More

Time rolls on

by Kylie, in category inspiration, knitting
